The rules for using this service are very fair and aim to accomplish the intention of this site...getting open source website developers noticed. Also in the interest of fairness, the order in which the sites will be listed will be 100% random.

Registration:

To be able to get your website(s) listed on the shared link distribution (SLD) you must register to become a member of OWDLinX. All information on the registration form is required. This information is for OWDLinX purposes only. It will not be shared in the SLD (except the website url & description) and will not be sold to anyone. If another member requests your e-mail address, you will be contacted for permission before it will be passed onto the other member.

Your e-mail address MUST be a working, valid e-mail address that you use/check frequently. Your password for logging into this site will be sent to you upon registering at the e-mail address you provide. This e-mail address is our way of contacting you if another member reports that the OWD links page on your site has been removed (see more below). If we cannot contact you, your website will be removed from the SLD after 72 hours.

The descrption you provide for your website must be no more than 70 words. This registration script is set up to cut off after 70 words, so if you enter more it will be cut off. In the interest of fairness....no exceptions.

Those interested in adding the SLD to their website WITHOUT having their own link added to the SLD may do so freely without registering.

Sharing:

You MUST use OWDLinX's code & all information included in the SLD to remain active with this service.

If a user fails to add the link share page or removes the link share page from his/her website, active members may report it. The designer will be notified via e-mail that he/she has 72 hours to add the link share page to his/her website. If he/she fails to do so, it will be removed from the distributed list, but not deleted entirely. The website owner will then have an additional 72 hours to resubmit the OWD link page for verification. If he/she still fails to do so, the website will be DELETED from the database, thus causing the site owner to add it again & submit it again for verification, if he/she wishes to continue participation in the link sharing service.

Acceptable Websites:

This service is reserved for OPEN SOURCE WEB DESIGNERS/DEVELOPERS ONLY. If a commercial site (not offering or promoting open source web design) is entered, it will NOT be premitted in the SLD. Pornographic, warez, crack, hacker, peer-to-peer, file sharing, gambling, link archive, illegal software...etc sites (anything not offering or promoting open source web design) are prohibited. However, web designers/developers who have commercial site AND offer open source designs, templates, or promote open source web designs, may use this service.
